Dragon Age 2 – Huge Dragon

This fight was a bitch, so I had to kite this Dragon like a bitch too! Either my party setup is balls, or I am at a too low level, or this encounter is just way too hard! But I came out victorious! Muhaha!

I did much worse my first time on this (on hard).
I, too, was an archer on that playthrough.

I found it easiest to pull the dragon into the hallway without entering the main room. Then the dragonlings don’t spawn, yet. Then I usually get agro (ironically, usually with Anders) and then pull the dragon all the way back to the ogre room, where the dragon seems to not be able to follow. Then I kite and pass agro back and forth until she’s dead.

Then I can easily go kill the dragonlings.

As my 2H second playthrough (also on hard), it took about a minute total to kill the dragon. While I liked archery, 2H is way more epic feeling.
